Delete your account

How to delete your account
You can delete your Citizen Sverige account at any time in either of the following two ways. You do not need to have the app installed to request deletion.

In the app:
Go to Settings → Account → Delete account. The account and all associated data are deleted immediately.

Without the app:
Email hej@citizensverige.com from the email address your account is registered with, using the subject line ”Delete my account”. We confirm your request and delete the account with all associated data within 30 days.
Asking you to email from the account’s email address is a security measure, so that no one else can delete your account for you.
What is deleted
When you delete your account, the following data is permanently removed from our database (Supabase, the EU Stockholm region). It is a real deletion – no freezing or deactivation.

Exception: Receipts and payment history for the one-time Premium purchase are handled entirely by Apple App Store and Google Play respectively. That information remains with Apple and Google under their own terms and cannot be deleted by us – we never receive your card details.

What is kept
After the deletion, no information linked to you as a person remains with us. The only thing that may remain is the accounting and receipt information that the payment platforms Apple and Google are required by law to retain, and that is handled by them under their terms.

Changed your mind?
Think it over before you delete: the deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. You can create a new account at any time, but your progress, saved words, test results and premium status cannot be restored. If you are unsure, contact hej@citizensverige.com first – we are happy to help.

You can delete your Citizen Sverige account, published by Swiftcore AB, at any time:
- In the app: Settings → Account → Delete account (deleted immediately).
- Without the app: email hej@citizensverige.com from the email address your account is registered with, using the subject line “Delete my account”.
All account data (email address, login credentials, language preference, practice progress, streaks, saved flashcards, test results, premium status) is permanently deleted from our EU-hosted database within 30 days.
