Terms of Use

Last updated: 29 August 2026

Note: This page is a machine translation of the Swedish original at citizensverige.com/villkor. If the versions differ, the Swedish text applies.

Welcome to Citizen Sverige! These terms apply when you use the Citizen Sverige app (iOS and Android) and the website citizensverige.com. By creating an account or using the service, you accept these terms. Take your time reading them – we have tried to write them as clearly as possible.

The service is provided by Swiftcore AB, company registration number 559429-4851, Fabriksvägen 18, 972 54 Luleå. If you have questions, you can always reach us at hej@citizensverige.com.

1. About the service

Citizen Sverige is an app for anyone who wants to practise for the Swedish citizenship test. The app contains practice questions, test simulations, a glossary with flashcards and support in several languages.

Important to know: Citizen Sverige is an independent practice tool. We are not affiliated with the Swedish Council for Higher Education (UHR), Migrationsverket or any other government authority. All content in the app is our own practice material – it is not the real test questions. Using the app is a good way to prepare, but we cannot guarantee that you will pass the test or be granted Swedish citizenship.

2. Account

To use the app you need an account. You can register with an email address and password, or sign in with Google or Apple. The following applies when you create an account:

  • You must provide true and correct information, for example an email address you have access to.
  • You are responsible for keeping your login details secret. Everything done through your account counts as done by you, unless you have told us that the account is being misused.
  • You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. The app is aimed at adults preparing for the citizenship test and is not directed at children.
  • We may suspend or close accounts that are used in breach of these terms, for example attempts to avoid payment, manipulate the service, copy content on a large scale or otherwise misuse the service. Where possible, we will contact you first.

3. Premium

The basic features of the app are free. If you want everything, you can buy Premium, which unlocks all chapters, unlimited test simulations and the entire glossary.

What Premium costs and how long it lasts is the same on iPhone and Android. Today we sell two products:

Premium 90 days Premium 90 days + Pass guarantee
Price SEK 199 SEK 349
How long it lasts 90 days from the purchase
Where you buy In the app, via the App Store or Google Play. The same price in both stores.
Renews automatically? No. No subscription, no recurring fees, nothing is charged unless you buy again.

If you bought Premium at the older prices (SEK 399 on iPhone or SEK 375 on Android), the terms in force at the time of that purchase apply to it. The price you see in the app is always the one that applies, and it is shown in the purchase flow before you confirm. The prices above apply to Sweden; in other countries the price is set by Apple and Google respectively in local currency.

  • The purchase is completed and handled entirely by Apple App Store or Google Play. We never receive your card details – we only see the receipt and your premium status.
  • Premium is tied to your Citizen Sverige account. If you change phone or reinstall the app, you can use the »Restore purchases« function to activate Premium again at no extra cost. This applies within the 90 days the purchase covers.
  • If we promised you the Pass guarantee in the app when you bought, it applies to your purchase under §4a – regardless of which product above you bought.

We may change the price and content for future purchases. A purchase you have already made is never affected retroactively: what applied when you paid continues to apply.

Apple and Google may each have their own terms that apply to the payment itself.

4. Right of withdrawal

As a consumer you have a 14-day right of withdrawal for distance purchases under the Swedish Distance Contracts Act, lagen (2005:59) om distansavtal och avtal utanför affärslokaler.

Premium is digital content that is delivered immediately once the purchase is completed. In Apple’s and Google’s purchase flows you consent at the time of purchase to the content being delivered immediately, and you confirm at the same time that the right of withdrawal therefore ends once delivery has begun. This is standard for digital content and follows the exception in the Distance Contracts Act.

Because the payment is handled by Apple and Google respectively, it is the right of withdrawal that you claim from them:

Apple and Google apply their own refund rules. If you get stuck, you are welcome to contact us at hej@citizensverige.com and we will help you as best we can.

In addition to the right of withdrawal we provide a voluntary guarantee, see §4a. It is a commitment from us and does not affect your statutory rights. The guarantee is claimed from us, not from Apple or Google – so do not send a guarantee application to them.

4a. Pass guarantee

We provide a voluntary guarantee under section 22 of the Swedish Marketing Act, marknadsföringslagen (2008:486). It applies in addition to your statutory rights and never limits them.

If you do not pass the official citizenship test even though you have met the guarantee requirements, we pay back your entire purchase – in money, via Swish, within 14 days of receiving your test result from UHR.

The guarantee and the right of withdrawal are two different things

In everyday language both are called »money back«, but they are separate rights with different counterparties, different time limits and different conditions. Do not mix them up:

Right of withdrawal (§4) Pass guarantee (§4a)
What it is A statutory right under the Distance Contracts Act. A voluntary promise from us. It does not replace, extend or limit the right of withdrawal.
Who you turn to Apple or Google, who handled the payment. Us – we pay out of our own funds. Apple and Google are not involved and cannot review a guarantee application.
What »14 days« means The withdrawal period: 14 days from the purchase, and it ends once delivery has begun with your consent. Our payment time: we pay within 14 days of receiving your test result. It is not a withdrawal period.
Is a test result required? No. Yes – a test result from UHR showing that you did not pass.

Whether you have used one right or not does not affect the other. However, if you have already had the purchase refunded via Apple or Google, there is no purchase left to compensate, and the guarantee cannot then be paid out a second time.

Requirements for the guarantee to apply

  • Bought in time – you bought Premium at least 30 days before the test date, so that you had time to finish studying.
  • Completed study plan – you have followed the study plan in the app: all test simulations done at least once and the entire question bank seen. The full, always up-to-date requirements are on the guarantee page.
  • Proof of the result – you can show a test result from UHR showing that you did not pass.
  • Application within 30 days – you email us within 30 days after the test at hej@citizensverige.com, from or stating the email address your account is registered with.
  • Once per person – the guarantee can be claimed once per person.

Payment: we pay back the purchase amount via Swish within 14 days of receiving your test result. We cannot trigger a refund in the App Store or Google Play – Apple and Google are the sellers of the purchase itself – which is why the guarantee payment is made outside the stores’ payment flows.

What the guarantee does not cover

  • That you did not attend the test, rebooked or cancelled the test date.
  • That you cannot show a test result from UHR.
  • Purchases that have already been refunded by Apple or Google, or purchases that have been reversed.
  • Accounts deleted before the application could be reviewed, if that means we cannot check that the requirements were met.

Which guarantee terms apply to your particular purchase is decided by the version that was published when you bought. We may tighten the terms for future purchases, but never retroactively for a purchase that has already been made.

5. Intellectual property rights

All content in the service – practice questions, texts, explanations, glossaries, graphics, logo and software – belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

You may use the content for personal, non-commercial use, that is, for your own preparation for the test. You may not copy, distribute, sell, publish or otherwise reuse the content without our written permission.

6. Limitation of liability

The service is provided »as is«. We work hard to keep the content correct and up to date and to keep the app running stably, but we cannot guarantee that the service is always free of errors or available without interruption.

  • We are not responsible for the result of your citizenship test or for the outcome of your citizenship application.
  • We are not liable for indirect or consequential damage arising from use of the service, to the extent permitted by law.

Your statutory rights are not affected. Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have under mandatory consumer legislation, for example the Swedish Consumer Sales Act and the Distance Contracts Act.

7. Changes to the service and these terms

We develop the app continuously and may add, change or remove features. Features included in Premium may be improved and updated, but we do not remove the core of what you have paid for.

We may also need to update these terms, for example when features change or legislation changes. For significant changes we will inform you in the app or by email in good time before the change takes effect. The date at the top of the page always shows when the terms were last updated. If you continue to use the service after the changes have taken effect, you accept the new terms. If you do not accept them, you can stop using the service and delete your account at any time.

8. Termination

You can stop using the service and delete your account at any time, with no notice period:

When you delete the account, the account and all associated data are permanently removed within 30 days. Note that a deleted account cannot be restored – your progress and your premium status in the app disappear. Receipts and purchase history at Apple and Google are governed by their respective terms.

9. Governing law and disputes

Swedish law applies to these terms. Disputes that cannot be settled by agreement are decided by a Swedish general court.

As a consumer you can also turn to the Swedish National Board for Consumer Disputes (ARN), Box 174, 101 23 Stockholm, arn.se, which reviews disputes between consumers and companies free of charge. We take part in ARN’s proceedings. You can also use the European Commission’s online dispute resolution platform (ODR): ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

Want to know how we handle your personal data? Read our privacy policy. You can always turn to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY), imy.se, in matters concerning personal data.
